It's a start

Learning that your child is gifted or gifted with a learning disability is learning that you have a child with special needs.

Currently in British Columbia those needs are often not supported by funding and/or resources.

That has to change.

The Burnaby School District is looking into how they can do an even better job despite a contracting budget. There's what we want and then there's reality, and the reality is that we have to demonstrate to our provincial elected representatives that the education of our children warrants more than lip service. They are our most precious resource.

Write your MLA and the Minister of Education to express your views and concerns regarding the lack of funding to support children that learn faster and/or have asynchronous learning abilities. If you don't speak up for your children, who will?
